The following "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) are those posed most often to our customer service department. If your question is not answered here, please contact our customer service staff by e-mail at info@scannerworld.com, or our contact form.

 

Order Information

Scanner World USA Inc. accepts online orders using MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. Credit, debit, and cash cards are accepted. Charge card information placed with order should match the billing address of the card. Orders must be placed through our web sites secure shopping cart.

Scanner World does not accept phone or postal mail orders.

Most in stock orders are shipped the same or next day. All merchandise is brand new in factory sealed cartons (unless otherwise noted). Scanner World does not dropship any merchandise. All advertised products are stocked and shipped from our own, Albany, NY warehouse.

Scanner World USA Inc. does not ship any merchandise on a trial or demo basis. Prices, specifications and terms subject to change without prior notice. We are not responsible for any typographical errors. All shipments are F.O.B. Scanner World USA Inc. warehouse in Albany, NY. All claims and adjustments must be made within 7 days of invoice. No returns accepted after 28 days. Any returns or exchanges on new unopened items will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Shipping, handling, or processing charges and any other surcharges are non-refundable. All brand new merchandise carries manufacturer's warranty. Add New York State sales tax to total of order, including shipping and handling charge, on shipments made within New York State.

 

Shipping Charges

Shipping totals are automatically calculated online which include S&H, processing, insurance, and delivery for orders shipped to the 48 contiguous continental US states when added to the shopping cart. The minimum shipping S&H charge for any order is $5.99

Shipping / handling charges and other surcharges are NOT refundable. All orders shipped within the lower contiguous 48 states continental USA will be charged shipping charge which incudes S&H as shown in the shopping cart. Online order entry is only accepted from the 48 contiguous continental US states and will show amount charged as shipping including S&H. Our primary shipper is the USPS.

The minimum shipping S&H charge for any order is $5.99

Shipments made to a business or company name must be listed in the phone directory as a business at the given address. Our primary shipper is the USPS.

  

Shipping Questions

How much will it cost to ship my order?
 
The easiest way to calculate your shipping cost within the lower 48 continental US states is to simply add the merchandise to the cart. This will display your merchandise total as well as the price for shipping after adding your zip code and state and then clicking update to see amount.
 
How long does it take for my order to arrive?
 
That depends on product availability. Most in-stock orders placed before 1:00 pm Eastern Time will usually ship the same business day. Once it leaves our warehouse, the time it takes to be delivered depends on your location. We are located in Albany, NY and delivery time across the US is approximately 2 to 6 business days depending on location shipped to. We ship most orders by USPS and do not guarantee a delivery date. Delivery date shown on the USPS web site is an apprroximate estimate delivery date only, not a guarantee.
 
Can I ship my order outside of the United States?
 
No, we do not ship outside the United States.

What credit cards do you accept?
 
Scanner World USA® accepts online orders using MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. Credit, debit, and cash cards are accepted. Charge card billing information, placed with order, should match billing address of the card.
We do not have access to, nor can we see, your credit card or PayPal information used in your online order.
 
May I pay with a purchase order?
 
No, we do not accept open account purchase orders. Payment must accompany purchase order.
 
May I order via e-mail?
 
No, orders must be placed through our web sites secure shopping cart.

Return and Refund Policies

What if my order arrives damaged or is missing something?
 
Email information to info@scannerworld.com immediately to report damage or shortage. All claims and adjustments must be made within 7 days of invoice.
 
What is your return policy?
 
No returns or exchanges are accepted after 10 days. Returns and exchanges on new unopened items only, minus 15% restocking fee. Shipping, handling, or processing charges and any other surcharges are non-refundable.
 
Is there any warranty on your products?
 
All brand new merchandise carries manufacturer's warranty. Please email or call for specific item warranties.
 
 

Tax Concerns

Will I be charged sales tax?
 
One of the great benefits of shopping with Scanner World USA® is that most customers will not have to pay sales tax. Only orders shipped to New York State are charged sales tax. Our shopping cart will automatically calculate sales tax if you are shipping your order to New York State.
 
What is your federal Tax ID Number?

How can I get a quote, estimate, or pro-forma invoice?
 
To receive a pro-forma or quote add items to your shopping cart and click on money order payment. This will give you an itemized list with a grand total, including shipping and handling, which you can print out for your records.
 
 

Shopping our website

What if you don't list the item I need?
 
If we carry it and it is in stock, you can find it on this website. If you cannot find a particular item through our search engine try using a partial search of the item you are looking for. Such as if you are looking for BCD996T and can't find it, enter only 996 and every item on our web site that includes 996 will be shown in search results. If you still can't find the item, just send an e-mail to info@scannerworld.com or go to our contact page.
 
Do you have a printed catalog?
 
Scanner World does not print a catalog.
 
How can I tell if an item is in stock?
 
Most items are in stock and ready to ship. On each products description page, check the availability line, to see if an item is in stock.

We keep any information we receive from you away from those who invade your privacy or send you spam. Whatever info you give us is only used to process your order and improve your experience with Scanner World USA®.

How does ScannerWorld.com handle online security and my personal information?
 
Ordering online with Scanner World USA® is secure and convenient. We recognize that your privacy and security are important and we are devoted to ensuring that your personal information is safe.
We use the latest technology in online security such as site identification and data encryption. With site identification your browser automatically ensures that you are connected only to our Web site. If a problem arises your browser should alert you to the potential loss of security.

The strict data encryption that we use hides sensitive information like your name, address, and credit card information. Our ordering process is protected by the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which encrypts your information and confirms the identity of the Scanner World server before  allowing your shopping cart to be checked out. We do not have access to, nor can we see, your credit card information used in your online order. Modern browsers support the SSL protocol. We recommend that you use the latest browsers to ensure that you are protected by advances in security technology.
 
How does SSL work?
 
Here's how:
 
  • When accessing an SSL-secured Web site, the user's browser sends a message to the Web server, requesting a secure session.
  • The Web server responds by sending the user its server certificate (which includes its public key).
  • The user's browser will verify that the server's certificate is valid and has been signed by a certificate authority whose certificate is in the browser's database. It will also verify that the certificate authority certificate has not expired.
  • If the certificates are all valid, the user's browser will generate a one-time, unique "session" key and encrypt it with the server's public key. The user's browser will then send the encrypted session key to the server so that they will both have a copy.
  • The server will decrypt the message using its private key and recover the session key.

This completes the SSL "handshake" process, and a secure SSL connection has been established. The entire process of establishing the SSL connection typically happens transparently to the user and takes only seconds.

A key or padlock icon in the browser window indicates that the browser is running in secure mode. SSL is supported in the vast majority of browsers and Web servers on the market.
